Beau & Bell

Beau & Bell are a Brighton-based bell tent and giant tipi company, providing hire for weddings, festivals, corporate and private events.

Founder, David, contacted me initially with the help of updating their logo. Then a completely bespoke website design, branded promotional brochures and a design for vehicle livery followed.

David also wanted to create some vector illustrations that could be used across the website, brochures and van livery. I suggested we create some scenes that would be centred around a wedding reception, showing a giant tipi and a bell tent village in a rural setting.

Kathaa

One of the most rewarding projects I’ve had the pleasure to work on has been a new social enterprise for the a global charity who are changing the lives of thousands of young girls in Nepal.

I worked closely with Hannah, NYFs CEO, on coming up with a name for the enterprise – ‘Kathaa’ which means ‘story’ in Nepalese.

The men’s and women’s Down Jackets have been made by Nepal’s freed Kamalari women (domestic child slaves). The Nepal Youth Foundation has trained these girls in commercial tailoring enabling them to take control of their lives and tell their own stories through the clothes they make. 100% of profits go back to NYF UK and into helping Nepal’s most vulnerable children.

Every girl at Kathaa has an empowering story to tell and everything they make is an expression of that story. This was the what led to the name Kathaa, which means story in Nepalese. This also informed the strapline – Every Stitch Tells a Story.

“I originally got in touch with Charlotte to help us turn an idea into something tangible and in doing so, create a brand identity.  She instinctively understood what was needed as her conceptualisation was spot on. She is creative, committed, affable and proved herself a real asset to the team.  I would go as far to say that she was invaluable to our work.

We have worked on other projects since and it is always effortless: Charlotte has enough business acumen to quickly grasp any concept, and then the skill to turn it into stunning visuals.

Her professionalism and abilities are of the highest standard. She is a real talent and we genuinely enjoy working with her – I couldn’t recommend her enough.”

Left Logic

Julie and Remy approached me to help out with the design of an event pass print design, banners and some stickers for their 2- day conference in Brighton ffconf.

I worked with design elements created by an Illustrator and used those to layout the 12-sided event pass. I managed the print and guided Julie and Remy on the different options for paper stock – in the end going for a more premium uncoated and textured paper than previous years.

“Very happy with the personal service I received. Gave good advice and guidance to enhance the design, listened to our requirements and feedback – the end product was just what we wanted.”

Combat Nutrition business card

Combat Nutrition

Combat Nutrition works with world-class athletes providing nutrition plans to elite athletes all over the world. The business started in 2006 prepping bodybuilders for shows and now sees high-profile athletes like MMA Fighters Thiago Silva and Frank Mir, and British Judo Gold Medal Winner, Owen Livesey.

I was approached by Darren (Dede) to come up with a logo design which would be featured on their clothing as well as for TV and press conferences. The logomark needed to be a simple, clear design and have stand-out when being visible on TV and at press conferences.

The ‘c’ and ‘n’ combine to make a single shape. The two separate shapes created within the left side of ‘n’ represents the two important elements within this industry; nutrition and training.

The finished design works as a single colour version for clothing and includes a gradient red stripe over grey for all print work.

“Combat Nutrition are extremely pleased with the new design and logo concept created by Charlotte. As a nutrition company working with world-class athletes we needed a new logo that will catch people’s attention at press conferences, weigh-ins and fight nights. The new logo certainly has exceeded our expectation, and we have had extremely positive feedback.

The original idea we had was turned on it’s head by Charlotte and we are so pleased she gave us a selection of designs to choose from.”
